A Medal for Saving Life in a Fire. A silver 8-armed star (54mm) depicting on the obverse a fireman climbing a ladder to the second story of a blazing building. The reverse is engraved "Presented/To/G.C. Wakefield, Esqr/for Services rendered/to/Ping Wo" With a loop suspension. It is unclear whether "Ping Wo" is a geographical name (in 1900, a fort existed at a village of Ping Wo, near Canton) or a person. More Details
