“Aviation Awards of Imperial Germany and the Men Who Earned Them, Volume III - The Aviation Awards of the Kingdom of Saxony”, by Neal W. O’Connor, Princeton, NJ, 1993. Softbound, 279pp, illustrated.  With the embossed library stamp of Eric Ludvigsen, a noted Imperial German awards expert. After Ludvigsen’s death, this book went to Rick Lundstrom, another exceptionally skilled researcher of German awards.

O’Connor’s series on the aviation awards of Imperial German is the finest source in English on the subject. While focusing on awards to aviators, he covers the process of how awards were given, providing insight from years of study of German regulations and statutes.
